Anchorage police are still looking for answers after an Anchorage woman was found dead in a midtown parking lot early Wednesday morning.

Lena Joseph, 44, spent the night under a container trailer in the Mall at Sears parking lot with her boyfriend, Richard Robinson.

He first called police around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday and told police that when he awoke, he found Joseph unresponsive beside him; she was later declared dead at the scene.

"We don't have a cause of death as of yet. There were no outward signs of foul play, though, and an autopsy was conducted. But pending the results of some other testing, it's not official,” said Anchorage police spokeswoman Anita Shell.

Joseph's family said she was not homeless and police are unsure why she was sleeping in a parking lot.

Come on people - why do you have to make rude comments. Someone passed away and you guys have to blame someone or something. Do not judge as you have never walked in her shoes. My heart goes out to her family and her loved ones with no blame or judgement.

With PTRP's filed and convictions related to drinking, I'm sure alcohol and drugs were involved. Seriously, use your brain people.

I think it's a little soon to suspect foul play. In these circumstances drugs and alcohol can play a huge role. It is just as likely that her heart stopped because of a health issue that has not been revealed yet. It seems to me that it is best not to come to any real conclusion until there is more information available. This must be very difficult for her family and I hope that for their sakes, folks will be kind in their postings. Rest in peace Lena.

Perhaps the family was in denial?

That is truly sad, it sounds like some kind of foulplay. If her family said she wasn't homeless, what the heck was she doing sleeping under a trailer, unless she was hiding a secret life from her family. My prayers are with her family. I feel really bad for her boyfriend if he had nothing to do with her death, but why on earth would they sleep under a trailer. Truly a sad story.
