Woman Dies of Injuries in Weekend Car Crash

While multiple witnessed phoned police of the accident, Anchorage police spokeswoman Anita Shell said the investigation is “nowhere near complete.”

Anchorage police say a 22-year-old woman involved in an east Anchorage car crash this weekend has died from her injuries.

The collision occurred just before 9 p.m Saturday when a Ford pickup heading west on Northern Lights Boulevard collided with an eastbound Ford SUV turning north at the intersection.

The SUV flipped on its side on impact, trapping passenger Carman Fabiano inside along with 22-year-old Andrew Knowles.

Fabiano suffered massive head injuries as well as trauma to the right side of her body and was pronounced dead Sunday morning.

The driver of the Ford pickup has been identified as 34-year-old Jonathan Carter of Anchorage.
