Wearing Orange in the Name of Unity
October is National Bully Prevention Month and the public is being asked to take a stand against bullying and wear orange on Unity Day.
October is National Bullying Prevention month and Wednesday, Oct. 12 is Unity Day.
Organizers are hoping that people will wear something orange that day to send a message that bullying can happen to anyone and it's never okay.
“It doesn’t have anything to do with race, gender, sexuality [or] disability. Anybody can be bullied and the effects are very, very negative and can have long-lasting effects from childhood all the way into adult,” said MJ Thim, communications and outreach manager for Stone Soup Group.
