Oh, so before the company even submits a plan Ms Cantwell wants to side step the law in an issue she has no business in and have a government agency take a companies right to even try and do business in Alaska. I say maybe we should resend all the commerical fishing permits owned by Washington State residents and put them up for bid to Alaska residents.

Gee, is this like when Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell spent 15 minutes in a helicopter flying over a teeny, tiny chunk of ANWR....many many miles away from where the possible drilling would be...then decided to fight to ban all drilling there? I came back home to Alaska from Washington in part to GET AWAY from those harpies and here they are meddling in Alaskan affairs!

So if they get to make decisions about our state do we get to make decisions about theirs? Because if we do I think we should start by telling them that about 3/4 of Seattle should be dismantled because it's an eyesore and a massive blight on the face of the earth.
