ANCHORAGE - Online you will find a fundraising campaign for a fantasy novel written by a UAA student.

Kari Ronning, who graduates Saturday with degrees in art and photography, wrote and illustrated the 450 page novel "Noren."

The fantasy novel is about a magical realm based on plots and characters she developed along with longtime friends Kristy Miller and Amanda Gagnon.

For the next month they are trying to raise $20,000 through kickstarter.com to publish and market the book.

"We have a business plan already ready to go,” said Ronning. “We picked out an actual publisher who's going to be publishing the books. We have everything else for the direct marketing we'll be doing for the book ready to go. We're just waiting on funds."

Ronning said if the campaign fails to reach its goal and the funds are returned, they will publish "Noren" as an e-book.
