Two Women Injured in South Fairbanks Shooting; Suspects Sought

Fairbanks police are investigating a shooting that injured two women in South Fairbanks on Monday, according to Lt. Jim Geier.

FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks police are investigating a shooting that injured two women in South Fairbanks on Monday, according to Lt. Jim Geier.

The call was reported at 8:08 p.m. and both victims were to taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Lt. Jim Geier said.

“My understanding is neither had life-threatening injuries," he said.

The circumstances behind the shooting are under investigation.

By about 9 p.m. police tape was up at the crime scene at 1215 28th Ave., near the corner of Barnette Street.

The identity of the shooter is not yet known, but neither of the victims is a suspect, Geier said.
