ANCHORAGE - Two men, visiting Alaska from out of state, drowned in Lake Louise after an early afternoon boating incident Friday.

According to Clint Vardeman, deputy director of emergency services for the Mat-Su Borough, the men were pulled from the lake around noon. State troopers said the incident occured after the rented, 14-foot long boat the men were driving was left in gear and one of the men fell overboard.

While troopers said they're unsure how the second man ended up in the lake, neither of them were wearing life jackets. Troopers said one man was already dead when paramedics arrived, and the second died shortly thereafter.

The victims' names will be released when their next of kin are notified, troopers said.
