ANCHORAGE - A delivery truck driver with routes throughout Southcentral Alaska was arrested Wednesday on eight counts of distributing and possessing child pornography.
It won't be the first time David Alexander, 54, faces those charges in court: Police said he was previously convicted for distributing the illicit materials, and Anchorage court records show he has also been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.
Anchorage Police Department officials said the most recent charges against Alexander stem from a tip given to Cyber Crimes Detective Mark Thomas in March, claiming the Jewel Lake resident owned images and videos picturing the sexual abuse of children. When members of the Alaska Internet Crimes Against Children task force searched his home on the 8500 block of Blackberry Street, they found computers and other media with hundreds of images of child pornography involving children as young as six or seven.
While detectives don't believe Alexander produced the images himself, they're asking anyone with information about Alexander or the children involved to contact APD at 786-8900.
