FAIRBANKS — Alaska State Troopers are looking for suspects who stole a vehicle from a Skyline Drive home in the early hours of Sept. 29 before abandoning it at a home on Chena Ridge — where they stole a second vehicle and burglarized the home.

The occupants of the Chena Ridge property were at home while their residence was burglarized. They did not hear anything until the burglars drove off in their silver 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup, said Sgt. Brian Wassmann.

The vehicle, which has not been recovered, has personalized license plate “RUGER1,” he said.

It is not known how many people are responsible for the thefts or whether they are armed, he said.

The Fairbanks Crime Stoppers program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect or suspects. Tipsters can provide information while remaining anonymous by calling 456-CLUE.
