Scott McMurren shares holiday travel tips, great rates for flights

The holidays are nearly here, and Travel Guru Scott McMurren has simple advice for people getting ready to fly out of town:

1) Check to see if your flight is on time before you leave from airport.

2) Have someone take you right to the curb for your flight, or consider taking a cab.

3) Show up early at the airport. Two hours prior to scheduled departure.

Some great (round-trip) travel deals to keep your eye on:

$336 USAir: Anchorage – Long Beach
It’s a great deal, even if you have to fly through Phoenix.
$355 USAir: Anchorage – Denver

$455 USAir: Anchorage – Boston

Internationally—fly Condor nonstop to Frankfurt on their very first nonstop flight of the season: May 1. Return in May, for as little as $789 per person. Fly business class for less than $1300.

On the Club 49 front, fly Alaska Airlines Anchorage to Bethel for $203, round trip, and that’s to travel on Tuesday-Wednesday-Saturday in January 2012.
