cooljulie as a nurse I can tell you right now that people are brought back from the dead every day. Watch any modern tv show and you will see CPR. Dear one if your heart stops you are dead and yet Doctors and Nurse revive people every day. Even the word revive which is a clinical term implies bring back from death.

We can argue if there is a Biblical basis for believing homosexual behavior is a sin. But we cannot believe that Jesus, who called for an end to discrimination, who preached the love of God, would tell us it is ok--even mandatory--to deny someone a job or a home because he or she is a "sinner." We all are sinners. The moral question is whether we want to live in a society in which it is legal to deny someone the right to earn a living or have a home because we disagree with the way she lives her life. Discrimination is never loving. I can find no scriptural mandate to keep gay people unemployed and homeless. On the contrary, housing the homeless and giving work to the unemployed is the very thing Christ commands. Prop 5 is not about whether we prove of "homosexual conduct." It is whether we believe in treating people fairly and decently. It is a great indecency to oppose equality for gay and transgender people.

Amanada, I believe the problem is that we no longer view Americans as individual people but as numerous groups, therefore we continually have to change laws to protect "groups." Maybe the law should read that we do not allow hate crimes to be committed in the Untied States period. By adding language to existing discrimination laws covering alternative lifestyles, you are demanding that society place their stamp of approval on this group and their actions. Many people, for religious reasons, can not do that. We understand that everyone has a right to live anyway they choose, but that does not mean that that all of society has to personally approve of the lives of their citizens. It seems to me that since there are so many people ( including numerous political figure) that are so supportive of an'anything goes' lifestyle then we should not have a problem. They have plenty of money to use to purchase real estate, open business etc. to take care of all who are being treated unfairly.

The question is: Should Alaska protect a minority against hate crimes? This question should not have ANYTHING to do with religion. This country is NOT a CHRISTIAN country. Nor is this state a Christian state. This country was based on freedom of religion! Why are we looking to religious leaders to give us their opinion on a matter of someone's safety? They are not the ones experiencing hate crimes. This enrages me so much. Speculating about what the Bible says is irrelevant in this case. Anyone that would decide not to protect the LBGT community against hate crimes, despite their religious beliefs, are just heartless and brainless. I am not anti-Christian, I just think Christianity should NOT dictate who should and who should not be protected against hate crimes. In fact, it is anti-Christian to not protect and love a human.

The plight of man boils down to one insolent act on the part of Lucifer. Jealousy. God and his minions created man in their likeness and God saw that it was good but he demanded that the angels bow down before us and Lucifer wanted no part of it and has sought to wipe us out of existence ever since. He hates us and will do all in his power to keep us from the glory promised by God. Everlasting life.

Soapster- I respect your right to believe whatever makes your life happy for you but- just because you and others choose to believe something doesn't make it TRUE. Religion is based on stories and faith, science and medicine are based on known fact. Homosexuals are born with that orientation, it is not learned behavior, any more than being born male or female is learned. You can choose to base your life on one opinion, or you can choose to educate yourself. You stated- "Science continues to prove the events of Christ". Really? Let's see, has science proved that anyone comes back from the dead, walks on water, turns water into wine, raises dead people, heals sick people by touching them, multiplies food in some mysterious way, is born to a virgin woman..... need I go on? Please enlighten us to this 'science'. The bible is a very UNscientific book.

It is rather obvious what the Clergy think of homosexuality. They love it. How many Priests do we need to hear about raping little boys or sleeping with crackheads. The fact of the matter is that they seem to adore this practice as none of them condemn these actions and instead chose to hide them. All of the churches have taken to the Mantra that it's just important to believe in hopes that you'll eventually drop off a few dollars so that the clergy can continue to be the worthless non-working, gay tolerant (in secret of course), child molesting bums that they are...

this is a comment on the comments, since i did not watch the video. according to the bible i read, Jesus said "they will know you are my people by your love one for another". i take that to mean that we are to project a love and hope and happiness that would make people want to find what we have. condemning others for any reason does not accomplish this. it was that same self righteous judgmental attitude that caused Jesus to rebuke the pharisees, who were the most learned men of god in their day. if you didn't notice, He was usually not fond of their company, preferring instead the poor sinners and publicans. He showed such compassion that they never felt afraid or unworthy in His presence. that being said, if you consider yourself to be Christian, think a little more carefully about the example that was left for you to follow, and especially think twice before you cause even more people to condemn the God and faith you follow because of unthoughtful words and actions.

Kathleen as I agree with most of your words, I believe the context tha "love covers a multitude of sin" refers to Jesus Christ being the redemption for the sin. It is not "love your brother, forgive and turn the other cheek love. I agree with Pastor Irwin that people are not born homosexual, and that it is sins of the fathers that has brought us to this place. Again, just as Pastor Irwin stated I do not claim to understand everything of the Bible. But what I do know is we can love the sinner for we are all sinners and hate the sin. As Christians we are to turn away from the sin as true believers. To be a true believer you must first believe the Bible to be the incarnate word of God. Yes, Jesus lived, died, and rose on the third day. Science continues to prove the events of Christ as propheties continued to be fulfilled. Choices it is all about choices, Jesus is the answer and can heal people physically, mentially, or socialically.

I thoroughly read the Bible and found to my horror that it condones slavery, sexism, polygamy, racism and God even orders, in some of the books of Moses, mass murder and ethnic cleansing. In the New Testament the innocent (Jesus)is allowed to suffer by his father who has foresaken him,so evil people not yet born can get a free pass into heaven.

Man wrote the bible, man creates his own gods. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of gods worshipped world wide, each one being the 'only true god' according to the group which created that particular god. Even among christians, who all read the exact same bible, no two faiths can agree on the same things about the god they worship. People will choose blind faith over proven science, but you can pick any scientist anywhere in the world, and get the same answer to a scientific question. It is mind boggling to me that people in this age of enlightenment STILL believe the old myths.

Not once did Jesus (in the bible story) condemn homosexuality, so if he is your 'lord' Kathleen, you need to go back and study the bible. (Are you aware that there is zero historical proof that the bible Jesus ever was on earth?) Funny how christians will say god creates us, but then condemn the creation. People do not CHOOSE to be gay, they are BORN that way. Pretty sadistic god that would condemn what you christians must consider a birth defect!

Oxymoron - you do not believe one can hate the sin while still loving the sinner? So then, following your logic that "you cannot separate the two", when your child does something bad, you immediately hate him or her along with the bad thing the child did? I doubt that...it's quite possible to hate the sin while loving the sinner...the sin is only a small part of the person

I can't believe KTVA is truly looking for any views other than the PRO GAY! agenda they push on the airways! They must be looking for some way to bash Christian beleavers and there faith. Homosexuality is WRONG, and if this country keeps going down the road of distruction as it is, What next will they try to push? Child Love, Animal Love, maybe even Robot Love. This country needs to go back to God's word! Not Ahla, Budda or any man made faiths.

Love the sinner and hate the sin? That's just a line of bull! You cannot separate the two. The real truth is that the greater threat to humanity is religion itself. Any form of worship is tantamount to belief in fairy tales. The god of the bible will eventually go the way of Zues, Thor, and countless others. Into the realm of mythology where they all belong.

Thank you Pastor Irwin for identifying the need for the Church to repent of sinful attitudes and behaviors that are counter to Jesus' command to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and body and to love your neighbor as yourself. Thank you also for stating the truth of God's word. The Lord does not approve of sin period, whether that be homosexuality, adultry, or fornication or lying or stealing or unbelief or unforgiveness! Let us be a light of God's love and truth, and let us pray for our country, community, friend and enemy. Scripture states the love covers a multitude of sin. Let us examine ourselves to see if we are walking holy and righteous before we condemn and judge. Homosexuality is wrong period! Yet, Jesus loves the sinners while hating the sin.
