I live here, have pretty much full time since 1973. I have harvested my share of big game from deer to bears, sheep, caribou, moose. I have enjoyed eating them all. I have a nice black wolf rug on the wall, the skin of which was given to me. I paid a local taxidermist to make it into a rug, thus putting money into the local economy. Still waiting to get last years moose hide back, having it tanned into leather that I will use in crafts, etc. More money going to the Alaska economy. I spend quite a bit of money on gas and maintenance for my boats and vehicles that I use to pursue these animals. More money into the local economy. Multiply that by the thousands of resident hunters in Alaska that do the same thing, you have quite a bit of money being spent by Alaskan's in Alaska.
