ANCHORAGE – Firefighters are asking for public help identifying the person connected with a Midtown blaze more than a month ago.
A trailer and adjacent building at the offices of Neeser Construction were damaged in a fire around 6 a.m. February 26, and Anchorage Fire Department investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. The process involves examining the evidence at the scene and awaiting lab results, and today fire officials said they have another clue.
Surveillance camera footage captured an unidentified person crossing the lot to the trailer, where flames appeared several minutes later. The person was recorded wearing jeans, a light blue hooded sweatshirt or jacket and a longer white t-shirt.
Firefighters are asking anyone with information on the first suspected arson of 2012 to call Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 907.561.7867. Calls are kept confidential, and anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspected arsonist is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
