ANCHORAGE – The Showboat Show Club has been shut down after it was caught selling alcohol illegally.

An undercover task force executed a search warrant last weekend at the 18 and over strip club, and confirmed the unlicensed venue was selling alcohol and to underage customers.

Ecstasy and marijuana remnants were also found, according to the Director of the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board Shirley Gifford.

The ABC and Anchorage Police Department are cracking down on illegal alcohol and drug use around town.

The Showboat strip club off Fifth Avenue has been under investigation since December.

Terry Stahlman, the infamous owner, said he no longer owns the club, but his name appeared on the search warrant.

“As far as my involvement, there is none,” said 69-year-old Stahlman. "This is the first time I've heard about narcotics. What narcotics are they talking about?”

Stahlman said a business associate has been renting out the venue for private parties on the weekend.

Investigators with ABC also recently served a search warrant at two local restaurants - Three Amigo's Mexican Restaurant and Tropical Latin Foods – which are across the street from each other on Boniface Parkway.

Three Amigo’s Mexican Restaurant has been run for more than 10 years by a husband and wife team, Victor and Mariela Hurtado.

They said they’ve hired a lawyer to help them during the police and ABC investigations.

According to investigators, the Three Amigo’s owners were selling alcohol after hours, allowing illegal drug activity and providing illegal entertainment.

Tropical Latin Foods owner Pete Matinez said he was holding parties after hours, but has settled the problem with the ABC Board. Matinez said he knows nothing about drug use on his property.

Gifford said illegal drug use is currently being investigated.

Guilty until proven innocent. It's the American way!

RC...it appears all of these businesses are guilty so your statement doesn't make any sense. APD or the ABC would not have been able to get any search warrants without probable cause. That is the American Way.

Was this the same place that was being offered for information about Samantha Koenig? That could explain a bit since Stahlman says he does not own it anymore
