ANCHORAGE - It is day 16 today in the search for Samantha Koenig. Last night Anchorage police said they were continuing to follow all leads and use all resources available in the search for the 18-year-old barista they say was kidnapped from a Midtown coffee stand. Police say it’s been two weeks since the young woman was forcibly taken at 8 p.m. on February 1 from Common Grounds Espresso on Tudor Road. Investigators say they have interviewed dozens of people, but will not release information about whether or not there were eyewitnesses the night Koenig went missing. If you were in the area near Tudor Road and the Old Seward Highway that night between 7 and 9 p.m., you’re urged to call Anchorage police at 786-8900. |

Funny how the boyfriend only released his first name and has been seen with a new girl. Funny how Christopher Bird points to the private investigator whom works in his attorney's office to help. First of all, APD sucks at solving anything. The Anchorage Police use K9s even for small crimes such as petty theft and non-criminal acts which I have witnessed. Although once I was robbed at gunpoint in Anchorage and they didn't use K9s.

Just wondering if the local PD looked into any other cameras in the area, they may have caught something...that time of night, I would think traffic would be low and persons could be contacted if any vehicle plates were visible. After 20 days...better start working outside of normal practices.

I heard today that APD had evidence that could have led to an arrest; but instead destroyed a computer belonging to Shailey Tripp (in violation of a court order). Makes a person wonder who the police are protecting. Certainly not the victims!
