ANCHORAGE - Collectors of all things Fur Rondy now have something new to add to their collections.

It's the official Rondy medallion, hot off the press, at the Alaska Mint today. The design features an airplane.

“You have bronze, silver and gold – pure gold,” said Chris Robuck of Alaska Mint. “The silver are all numbered limited edition as well as the gold, very limited. We might make a handful each year in the one ounce size.”

The bronze medallions $25, but the pure gold version could set you back almost $2,000 depending on the price of gold.
