ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police are working round the clock to find kidnapped barista Samantha Koenig, who has been missing for nine days.

18-year-old Koenig was last week Wednesday, February 1, at her job at Common Grounds Espresso around 8 p.m.

Police have not released any photos or video on the case, but say a stranger kidnapped Koenig. She has not been heard from since.

With family, friends and volunteers passing out flyers and searching for any clues. Investigators report they are making good strides in their efforts to bring back Koenig alive.

“We've gotten some pretty decent leads in the last 24 hours, and its just going to take good solid investigation to crack the case,” said Lieutenant Dave Parker

With the search for Samantha Koenig continuing, a group of Anchorage residents are holding a candlelight vigil for her in Town Square Saturday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

And if you have any information about Koenig’s disappearance, you’re urged to call Anchorage police at 786-2460.

To Rick; Are you seriously suggesting that a person has to be a police officer or a detective to have a clue? Then why is APD baffled as to the idendity of this perpetrator? APD has the video, why haven't they made an arrest? Sorry Rick but anyone who starts a sentence with "Ummm" and then calls another poster an idiot has no credibility

This is Los Anchorage. This girl wouldn't need the police if she knew how to defend herself. Ever wonder why Anchorage was listed as one of most dangerous cities in USA? Don't tell me it's safe cause statistics prove otherwise.

IT IS AMAGING HOW STUPID PEOPLE BECOME AND ALLOW THEMSELVES TO HAVE NO COMPASSION FOR THE HURTING HEARTS OF FAMILIES SUCH AS SAMANTHA. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF IT WERE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER. INSTEAD OF SAYING SOMETHING STUPID PRAY FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF THEIR DAUGHTER. ONLY GOD KNOWS WHAT REALLY HAPPENED, AND MAY HEREVEAL IT TO THE FBI AND POLICE TO BRING HER HOME. I DO NOT KNOW SAMANTHA, BUT I HAVE CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN, MY HEART HEARTS EVERYDAY SHE IS GONE. I PRAY THAT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WILL BRING HER HOME SAFELY AND WRAP HIS LOVING ARMS AROUND HER ENTIRE FAMILY IN THE FOLLOW DAYS TO COME. I PRAY FOR HER SAFE RETURN DAILY. IN JESUS NAME I PRAY AMEN

Tonight's APRN story says they were headed east to Old Seward Highway. I suppose it doesn't really matter, but have they corrected themselves again, or is APRN behind in its information? This is so frustrating.
