Police Standoff With Rifle-Wielding Man in Juneau

Juneau police were involved in a standoff with a rifle-wielding man in the Fosbee Apartments near the governor’s mansion in downtown Juneau.

At least one shot was fired about one block west of the governor's mansion where Governor Sean Parnell and his wife were staying, according to Juneau police.     

Police chased the suspect into a garage at 11th and C streets on Monday night after police cordoned off the neighborhood around the complex.

Ten homes in the area were evacuated and with no report of injuries.
