The Peruvian community of Anchorage got together in midtown over the weekend to celebrate one of its greatest traditions.

Dozens attended the "Lord of Miracles" celebration with mass and a reception event that included traditional Peruvian food, music and Latin dance.

Organizers of the event say it's one of the biggest Catholic events in Peru and is celebrated throughout the entire month of October.

“We can keep our traditions, our roots…We want to share with everyone here. It’s not only part of the Latin community; we want to expand to everyone—Americans, Filipinos; this is God and we want to enjoy God,” said event organizer Denise Otaegui.

This is the 15th year the event has been celebrated in Anchorage.
