There were two car wrecks downtown Friday afternoon. One was near City Hall near Sixth Avenue and D Street, in which a car hit two pedestrians. One of the pedestrians walked away, the other was injured and taken to Providence Hospital.

In another accident, a vehicle hit another vehicle near the Captain Cook Hotel, and the second vehicle nearly crashed into the hotel.

Our streets are not safe and getting skinnier, no road maintence on subdivisions...if we had not got our PFD we would have more money for road maintence and schools, etc. people are greedy for PFD, which is more important money or your lives?

Seems the driver of the SUV was Brandy Cicchetti. Her online courtview record shows she was convicted of a DUI last July. Don't you lose you drivers license for a year once you're convicted of a DUI?

If the driver was on a cell phone and driving I hope they throw the book at him/her for distracted driving. It would seem that too many Alaskans are willing to drive carelessly and with no regard for anyone else on the road.
