Because graffiti is commonly associated with negative messages, two men hope to show a fresh perspective and appreciation about spray paint art.

A couple of friends from the Heavenly Cup coffee shop convinced the owners to let them put up a mural of graffiti art on the wall by the business’s parking lot. The two men have been making artwork like this for about fourteen years.

“Our intentions are to get away from the bad name of what people consider to be graffiti, which is the illegal art that destroys property. We’re trying to pull away from that and show people there is an art to it,” said local artist Arturo Delafuante.

The artists plan to make more art around the city.
