National Park Service Pledges to Change Unpopular Yukon-Charley Boat Checks

The National Park Service will continue checking boats on the Yukon River this summer in the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, but rangers will focus those inspections on shore, not mid-river.

Actually I believe Park Ranger Dallemolle, who pointed a shotgun at these elderly Alaskans, is from Fairbanks. I believe his mother works for the Park Service out of the University - more of less - by getting funding from the Feds for Research. I believe the Dallemolles are local.

These people have been boating this are for generations, then the Feds bring in LAW & ORDER, clueless lower 48 rookies, who want to stop you in the river[and shut down your engine!!] They want to make sure the folks are safe by God, or they will shoot you!!! The wrong person or people was arrested!!!Good luck dealing with IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
