National Guard Continues Search for Missing SoldierSergeant Colin Buness was last heard from June 22ANCHORAGE - Described as an outdoor enthusiast by his commanding officer, Alaska National Guard Sergeant Colin Buness remains missing after embarking on a hiking and kayaking trip in Southeast Alaska. Buness, who reportedly shared the details of his trip with his family before departing, was last heard from last week. His trip plan took him along the Kikahe and Stikine rivers in Tongass National Forest, and his last known location was on a saddle between the Katete River and Aaron Creek. Alaska State Troopers were notified Buness was overdue for his return to Wrangell on June 25, and a search began the next day. Both ground teams and aerial search and rescue crews have retraced a large part of Buness's route, with no sign of the missing soldier. A National Guard spokesman said the search also includes several other agencies and National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters based in Juneau.

I was very sorry to hear about Mr. Buness....but I did want to add as food for thought that in Southeast Alaska there are 2 men who went fishing last year one in april and one in July...and it was walking distance, creek fishing and they were never seen again and not ONE trace of them was ever found....odd isn't it?? And if you research missing males in Southeast Alaska you may get a eerie felling now 3 men who went fishing are missing and no trace to be found....are there more is there something to this or just coindence
