A Homeless Person?

the bums need money since they can no longer hold up a street corner and sign for cash handouts to buy drugs and booze now they resort to stiff arming the citizens. to bad they didn't try that with an armed citizen.

Our trails are dangerous.

i know, personally, of several people who have been attacked on city trials, cops stay in thier cars and people who have to use trail suffer from their perceived laziness... protect and serve as long as its from the patrol cars... only when their is coverage from tv news about blood and guts being spilled do they decide to do something...

I was born here and I'm totally disgusted how things have changed here. Unlike times past, a walk or ride on the trails was safe and you had no need to carry protection, but now that all this "Trash" has shown up here in my city, I would be packing both my Taraus 44 Magnum and my 454 Casull. There is so much B.S. going on in this town it's up to you to protect yourself!

The crooks need to be caught before they hurt or kill their next victim. Meanwhile, there are several ways we can do to protect ourselves. The bext thing to do is to go in pairs, and be alert on the surrounding. Report all suspicious people and activities.

I carry a concealed weapon when in Anchorage

If you carry a large enough fanny pack, the perps could likely assume you have a weapon in that pack, also a whistle around your wrist or hung on the zipper of your coat will also do the trick..and yes you should always have a partner on any trail, this is just common sense

This is the result of a bad governing system. Not saying crime and drug related crimes will go away, but when someone has a means of support, they generally don't go around robbing. We need more American jobs for those who are not computer, technical savvy. We are creating a society of homeless people and the crime rate will rise as more people make the transition from middle class to homeless. GOP needs to stop the badgering and begin to work with the current administration to make America a great nation. Otherwise, nothing will get accomplished and Your job could be the next on the chopping blocks. We need renewable energy to provide our children a better world. We need to restructure the world's economical system because the current one failed! I say community is the solution to helping each other. If we see a neighbor in need, we need to band together and help each other. Without unity, America is doomed! Jobs = less crime!

I commute to work on that trail early every morning. I exercise on that trail late every afternoon. I have been doing this since 1998. I NEVER have seen a police officer on foot or on a bike. They have them, just too lazy to use them. Those nice new fancy cars are so comfey in the early mornings.

My favorite trail system, and it,s littered with homeless camps and drinking camps. Campbell park is the worst place to be late afternoons the drunks own it at folker street and the creek but the police seem to not notice the drinking the inebriates the public urinateing. The neighborhood is ruined by the drunks and nobody does anything about it espicaly LAW ENFORCEMENT.

i'm praying that the guy in the hospital survives, and ID's the attacker. i'm an almost-daily bus user, and i carry a mini pepper spray and cell phone EVERYWHERE no matter how safe of a place i'm going to, bcoz anything could happen on the way.

It's not the homeless. I had to go out late last night to help a friend and what I saw were marauding gangs of young men obviously out looking for something to steal in at least 3 different parts of town. One group of at least 5 guys were very suspicious, ducking in and out of driveways, looking in cars, all wearing backpacks.

Not all homeless people are lazy, lawless bums. My life has been threatened three times and two were by mentally ill former API patients. The scariest time was by a gang of twelve who were threatening to kill me. None were homeless.

An armed person could not help himself if there was a sneak attack or a bullet in the back. It may well have been done by a trusted acquaintance.
69294486Klaatu said on Sunday, Jun 19 at 3:33 PM
It's amazing that for a bunch of people who weren't there, so many are automatically blaming the bums for this. You're allowing the mayor's program to demonize a bunch of people without getting your facts. There are PLENTY of jerks, crooks, wayward teens, and other criminals walking around Anchorage on any given day that could have done this. You have no evidence at this time to conclude it was a homeless person. This kind of rush to judgement does our society serious harm.

Wildlife in Campbell Creek Pk. What I mean here of course, are the dangerous human-like creatures into bushwhacking-robbing. Parks are like this, like dockyards, worldwide. "Homeless" people get tossed out of residences due to their urinating and defecating, drug and drink abuses and non-payment of rent. "Homeless" here should read "Filthy Creatures"..Seen it too often. That and 'competition diarrhea spraying' in the alley at East 11th Ave. Foul therefore 'homeless'.

(No help from ANY LAW UN-Enforcement)I have to say...most of you are on the right track though. In regards to the HOMELESS BUMS, I seriously doubt they are responsible for this. They are drunks and very vile for the most part but lets not forget the term "bum". They cannot even catch a regular citizen walking let alone jogging or riding a bike. Probably some doper looking for fast cash for a fast fix. Also...
