Man Found Dead at Wet Housing FacilityIt’s the second death at the 46-bed Karluk Manor, which provides housing for chronically alcoholic homelessAccording to Anchorage police, a resident of Karluk Manor was found dead last night in his room. It’s the second death at the 46-bed housing program for chronically alcoholic homeless, which opened in early December. Lieutenant Dave Parker said medics responded to the facility just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, and found 46-year-old Daniel Worthman deceased. Program Manager Melinda Freemon said they were awaiting autopsy results to find out if alcohol was a factor. "This was a person who lived on the street for many, many years," Freemon said. "They were very frail."

that is so sad, life wasted. Who know's that person could have saved someone else's life before, he could have been hurting and no one believed him, Dr.'s are Nurse's, he may had childhood issue's and wasn't sure how to deal with them, who know's he could have watched abuse as a child, abuse of some sort, and stopped caring for himself.

the only reason that people pick up drugs or booze is to numb the social pain...it's all an illusion...we are suppose to be amped up...it's our human nature...little edgy and alert...and to take it and erase it just well leaves you dead in the water you drink eh?

I think this would work better for the use to be toward people who graduated from re-hab to live in. That makes sense. That would be a much better route that just makes sense, this is a senseless and uneducated move to open up a place like this...

I hope he had comfort and peace. Prayers for the surviving family and friends. I also hope that the medical examiner will perform a complete and accurate autopsy (as if the man who died was a senator).

So sad for a man to die alone, with no relatives, family or someone to hold his hand. Even the homeless have souls & deserve a kind gesture at the end of life.Hope he was saved. God loves us all.

just get a contract with the UAA Nursing program and as part of work-study they can monitor this. I had an idea to house the homeless and that was part of my program was a nursing unit in the building...that old pink building would be a good schematic for that...but who cares right
