A man was killed Sunday morning after a hit and run incident on the overpass of Tudor Road and the New Seward Highway.

Anchorage Police say 28-year-old Hubert Tunuchuk II was struck by a vehicle just after 3:15 a.m.

Tunuchuk was walking with a group of friends when an unidentified vehicle hit him and fled the scene.

Police say he was rushed to a local hospital with severe head and internal injuries, and died around 7:00 a.m.

“There's conflicting details about what type of vehicle it may have been,” said Marlene Lammers, Spokeswoman for the Anchorage Police Department.

“We are looking for the driver and the vehicle that struck him, somebody out there knows who did it,” she said.

The Anchorage Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle and driver to contact them at 907-786-8900. People wishing to remain anonymous can also call Crime Stoppers at 907-561-7867, or submit a tip on their website at www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
