It began with a man backing his vehicle out of his driveway and ended with his vehicle wedged halfway through his neighbor’s garage.

Anchorage police report that early this morning 79-year-old Paul Tousignant was leaving the driveway of his West Anchorage home. His foot became lodged under the vehicle’s brake pedal and he was unable to stop, causing him to crash into his neighbor’s home at 3685 Richard Evelyn Byrd Street, according to Capt. Mike Stumbaugh of the Anchorage Police Department.

Police say Tousignant is uninjured and was the only person in the car. There are also no reports of injuries from anyone inside the home where the crash occurred was injured.

The incident is currently under investigation.

No injuries is great news! Age may not even be a factor. His foot got stuck under the break pedal. I can see that happening. Depending on the distance travelled, he may not have had time to turn off the car. With the available information in this article, I'd give Paul the benefit o the doubt.
