ANCHORAGE--The Anchorage Police Department's major crime scene unit was in a Turnagain neighborhood some time after 7 p.m. Tuesday night, "gathering evidence for an ongoing investigation," said APD spokesperson Marlene Lammers.

The blue-and-white vehicle was parked in front of a blue house on Spurr Lane as police moved in and out of the building, taking pictures of the structure and the neighborhood.

Investigators on the scene were tight-lipped about why they were there, or what they were looking for.

When asked whether the investigation had anything to do with the disappearance of Samantha Koenig, the 18-year-old barista police say was kidnapped on February 1 from Common Grounds Espresso on Tudor, Lammers said, "I cannot confirm or deny that. I honestly don't know."

I will assume this will either be a domestic violence call or drug related. We will wait to see! I was hoping for something related to Samanthas case, but probably not related. Sorry for the death/murder of another anchorage citizen, is that 3 so far this year or 4?

If this is Samantha it is the responsability of the police to make sure that they have all the facts first. We have such a deperate need to know everything did anyone think that if it has gone bad for her that whoever is responsible is out there and that is the police priority to catch that person. I pray for her parents everyday and her that by some miracle that she comes home safe and sound. Let the police do their job.

There was no domestic violence call having to do with this story. The people who live in the house aren't even here. They're on vacation out of state. We have no idea what's going on (friends and neighbors) but the family that lives in the house that has the crime scene set up in and around it are really nice people that my family has known for years.

It is scarey that an APD spokesperson was at the scene and when asked if this was anything to do with Samantha said "I cannot confirm or deny that. I honestly don't know." Seriously? the cop has no idea why she is there? Or is it the norm for them to look people straight in the eye and lie? I hope the city manager up there is a little more ethical and has a few more morals than the officers he has in the PD.
