For the past two weeks, students at SAVE High School have been doing more than just school work: They’re on a mission to collect as many cans of food as possible.

The classrooms are competing to see who can gather the most food for an upcoming United Way food drive.

Many SAVE students have recieved food assistance before, and their teachers said it makes them eager to give back.   Last year, the school collected more than 3,000 pounds of food for the drive, and the students said they hope others will join their mission to help prevent more families from going hungry.
