Linehan goes homeLinehan's mother is "grateful" and hopes it is a step in the right directionTwo days after being allowed to go back to Washington State the former stripper turned soccer mom is happy to be home – after having had a murder conviction overturned, and then the indictment tossed out. On Tuesday, Michele Linehan was released from bail conditions while the state decided whether or not to re indict her for the 1996 murder of Kent Leppink. She was convicted of killing her former fiancé – a crime for which she faced up to 99 years behind bars, until the Alaska Court of Appeals overturned the ruling back in September. “The family is extremely grateful to have Michele home,” said Sandy McWilliams, Linehan’s mother. McWilliams also said, she wishes to extend gratitude to the people who believed in her innocence. She says that while they know it’s not over, they hope this is a step to true justice being served.
