ANCHORAGE - Representative Don Young (R - Alaska) is asking why federal agents are requesting copies of gun sale records from local firearms shops.

The congressman said several local stores reported they had been visited by Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms agents asking for sale records and other customer data, a request Young said was prohibited by Congress last year. At Great Northern Guns, manager Frank Caiazza said he's happy Young is investigating the demands.

"We want to get the word out to every gun store in America that this is not required, at least in our opinion," Caiazza said. "To the best of our knowledge, it is not legal for Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms to keep a printed record of current records that are acquisitions and dispositions of firearms of individuals."

We are a medical marijuana state and the DOJ is calling anyone who has a card a felon and can't purchase a firearm
