The 46-year-old man accused of shooting to death two Hoonah police officers will not be standing trial for the 2010 murders.

Superior Court Judge David George found John Marvin “incompetent to stand trial,” and, according to court records, ordered that he be committed.

The competency hearing was held Monday in Juneau.

Officer Matthew Tokuoka and Sergeant Anthony Wallace were slain in what’s been called an ambush attack in late August of 2010.
