ANCHORAGE - One of Alaska's greatest athletes is challenging students to get in shape.

Olympic skier Kikkan Randall arrived at Tyson Elementary School Tuesday afternoon to kick off a running program called "Arise."

Randall shared her personal story of hard work and success to help motivate the youngsters to stay healthy.

“So I love to just kind of share that passion with the next generation because I think kids no matter what they decide to do, whether they want to be an Olympic athlete or they want to go on and do other things, being healthy and active is the foundation of everything that you do.”

Part of the fun today included an obstacle course, where elementary athletes got to challenge the adults and everyone got some great exercise in the process.
