Last month an insurgent attack in Afghanistan killed five soldiers including 40-year-old Captain Charles E. Ridgley Jr, an Alaska-based officer.

Originally from Maryland, Ridgley was stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in 2009.

KTVA CBS 11's photojournalist Daniel Hernandez filmed the memorial ceremony at JBER commemorating the life of Captain Charles E. Ridgley Jr.
