ANCHORAGE - Israel Keyes, the Anchorage man arrested in Texas last week in connection with the abduction of barista Samantha Koenig, is officially "in transit," according to the U.S. Marshal Service. That designation was established when the decision was made to return Keyes to Alaska and does not indicate that his actual transport is under way, according to an official in the Anchorage office. The U.S. Marshals Service has a longstanding policy of releasing no information on prisoners' whereabouts until they reach their final destination. No statement will be forthcoming until Keyes is back in Anchorage.
