"....it's over and done. I think we'll move on from that." Yeah, sweep it under the rug. The rug that's BULGING from all the sh*t that APD hides. Crooked town politics at its best. Everybody who is anybody gets to hide behhind excuses. The rest of us pay double to make up for it. Time to vote the corrupt b*stards OUT.

Everyone knows for a fact if it was a regular person they'd be in major trouble! Who cares if it was minor! Who cares if it was for a second! It was caused by him looking or doing whatever to his phone. Sounds like he should be given a ticket like they would anyone else. It Just makes them look bad!!

Anyone else and they automatically receive as a minimum a traffic citation for "Failure to avoid a collision". $70 fine and 2 points to your license. Plus you have to send in verification of your insurance to Juneau. That's what happened to me and I wasn't even doing anything with my cell phone. Why is this case any different? Another instance of the good old boy network and taking care of their own. Sure wish the law was applied evenly and fairly to everyone. Any respect I had for our police department is gone with the wind!!!

If it was me, i would have my car impounded, be doing the drunk test, have to go to court, pay a fine, but ooo it was just a minor fender bender, what if a person had been standing there or walking and he hit em, cause he took his eyes off for a nanosecond, and how does sullivan know how long it was, cause the chief said so? Next time are they gonna let him go a dui?

Anchorage Police Department will not cut you a break for anything. If you did that they would overcharge you with horrendous crimes to force you to plea bargain. You'd wind up with a police record for life. They might even impound your car for "investigation," and keep it for a week. APD is not a "nice" police force. Mew has an accident and it's "minor." You do anything and it's a major felony with a tow and an impound. That's the way it works.
