Today, the couple accused of killing 42-year-old George Steven Brower in an Anchorage homeless camp pleaded not guilty.

At the Nesbett Courthouse in downtown Anchorage, Cynthia Kanayurak-Austin and Samuel Mishler were arraigned in superior court where their public defenders entered pleas of not guilty on all charges.

According to Anchorage police, on April 7, Mishler and Kanayurak-Austin were drinking with Brower in their tent when an argument erupted.

Police say Kanayurak-Austin bit Brower's face while Mishler strangled Brower to death with a white cord; their murder trail is set for July 5.

If convicted, each face up to 99 years behind bars.
