Lee, check the numbers. It is less expensive to house the murderers than it is to execute them. The state ends up paying huge fees to lawyers to fight all of the appeals. It is cheaper to run long-term, in patient programs like the one the current DOC closed down at Wildwood.

Well, since you think we should execute rapist, child molesters, murders lets not stop there, lets start executing the drug dealers and the people who sell drugs and alcohol to minors & get them hooked on this stuff. Next we should execute people whop drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol, but wait, lets not stop there, next lets execute the people who talk or text while driving. I agree, there are some people who deserve to be executed. I think that if a person can not be/refuses to be rehabilitated then I say lock them up and throw away the key (Third Strike Law). Texas has the death penalty as do other states but there is still packed prisons in those states as well, so, we know the death penalty does not work to detour crime. I think before a felon is released he or she must first obtain a GED and a rehabilitation plan written out along with a contingency plan. There are places out there who help felons get back on their feet for another chance.

if the state wants to save money execute the rapist and child molesters and murderer when found guilty in the court room (Guilty, Bang)and start a larger ankle monitor system,99 years sentence doesnt stop a person from doing a crime but know a bullet is guarenteed will make them think twice. Look at the sentences in Iran, Turkey and other less liberal countries. Lets try their style it works better than our.
