It was so hard to understand. I heard it twice.. on the car radio and then at home on TV. Both times I thought the girl was 8 years old. ADN says she is 18 and her "abductor" is 20. With all the technology we have, they need to fix these garbled messages. Even the squawk boxes at Carls Junior are clearer than this@=

I was watching another channel, but sad to hear it was bad on all stations. It was a complete failure and an embarrassment to whoever was involved. Thinking these are patched statewide and not nationally like the EAS, but surely it can be done better than this. This sort of thing is important, and folks should be called on the carpet to explain.

Whoever is in charge of putting these alerts out needs to fix the garbled messages. Even on the television the alert was so fast you couldn't read it.

Agree with others' comments. So much static on TV and weak voice meant unintelligible. There should also be graphic information as well as Closed Captioning. I went to AmberAlert.alaska.gov and found no "Contact Us" link to give them my "Joe Viewer" assessment. But I tracked down AK Homeland Security boss John Madden, who oversees Amber Alerts. Email him at John.Madden@alaska.gov.

At first I thought it might be another test, but upon seeing it was real, I sat up at attention. I strained to try to make out the message, but it was so fast and the static was so bad that it was pretty much useless. I was left feeling frustrated. I agree that there should be a written description as well as an audible one. I went directly to the Alaska Amber Alert site afterwards and got the info there. I only hope that a chance to find this girl quicker wasn't lost because of the bad quality of the TV message.
