Fort Wainwright Infantryman Sentenced in Connection with Soldier’s Suicide

Sergeant Adam Holcomb guilty of assault, not guilty of negligent homicide

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - An infantryman has been found guilty by a military court of two charges of maltreatment and one charge of assault in connection with the suicide of Private Danny Chen in Afghanistan last year.

Sergeant Adam Holcomb of the First Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, from Fort Wainwright, also had faced other charges, including negligent homicide and reckless endangerment.

Tuesday Holcomb was sentenced to 30 days confinement, along with forfeiture of $1,181.55 in pay and a reduction in rank to E-4.
