At a press conference on April 21, Anchorage School District Superintendent Carol Comeau announced that four ASD employees were fired for embezzling substantial amounts of money.

Today, Anchorage police have charged one of those former employees with theft, scheming to defraud, falsifying business records, and criminal use of a computer.

Dawn Lynn Reynolds, a 31-year-old student nutrition coordinator at O’Malley Elementary School, is accused of stealing approximately $2,700 worth of lunch money from students, according to Anchorage police.

Anchorage School District personnel alerted detectives of the possible theft back in April.

At that April press conference, Detective Tony Pate said that all four are believed to have acted independently.

Police have issued a warrant for Reynolds’ arrest and are in the midst of locating her whereabouts; she is believed to be in the Anchorage area.

If you have information as to the whereabouts of Dawn Lynn Reynolds, call Anchorage Police at 786-8900.

I agree. Put Jesus back in the class room. That should stop some of that teacher activity.

Actually, the four people that were caught stealing were not teachers. You should probably get your facts straight before running your mouth.

It doesn't matter whether the accused were teachers or not. This happened in a place of education where people send there hard earned money with their kids to eat! Who wants their money diverted to thieves pockets?
