Florida Man Fined $67K, Ordered To Return Bear Rug After Illegal HuntMan also used friend’s name to obtain hunting licenseA 36-year-old Florida man was ordered to pay nearly $67,000 in fines for hunting illegally in Alaska. According to court documents, Jack Vincent Dickerson pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of violating the Lacey Act and another count of identity theft.
Federal authorities say Dickerson stole a friend's name to apply for a hunting license, then killed a female brown bear and turned the illegal catch into a bear rug. Dickerson faced no jail time but must forfeit his Ruger hunting rifle and the bear rug.
