ANCHORAGE - Your federal income tax return or extension must be filed by the end of Tuesday.

Everyone had two extra days to file this year, but some people are still racing against the clock.

The University Center's free tax site is open until 11 p.m. If you've done your taxes and just need to get them in the mail the airport post office open 24 hours a day.

But even with the extended deadline residents still found time to procrastinate. "Procrastination is a five syllable word for slug, you know slow,” said last minute filer Richard.

Experts have some last minute advice. “If people know that they are going to owe money it is so very important that they send something. Maybe they owe $2,000, they can't afford to send the whole $2,000, but if they can send $100, send something,” said Jan Watson.

But the most important thing you can do is not ignore the deadline and make sure to file.
