Fairbanks Man Dies After Being Shot Multiple Times
A shooting in a wooded area behind the Sandvik Apartments left an adult male dead from multiple gunshot wounds Monday evening.

FAIRBANKS - A shooting in a wooded area behind the Sandvik Apartments left an adult male dead from multiple gunshot wounds Monday evening.
An 18-year-old Fairbanks man, Jacques Lisbey, described as the assailant, turned himself in at Alaska State Troopers headquarters later in the evening and is in custody, Trooper Sgt. Mike Roberts said.
Lisbey has been charged with murder, according to troopers.
The assailant had fled the scene of the shooting before officers arrived four minutes after they received a 911 call at 8:04 p.m. of gunshots heard in the area about 10 minutes earlier.
The wounded man called 911 two minutes later.
Troopers searched the area with assault weapons at the ready before locating the victim who was still alive. Calling out that they were there to help, the shooting victim was able to lift his arm above the foliage and disclose his location to troopers, Roberts said.
Troopers immediately began administering first aid to the victim before EMTs were able to take over. He died a short time later.
The scene of the shooting is located behind Sandvik Apartments on a leafy power line trail next to the Alaska Railroad tracks.
Investigating officers continued to search the scene several hours after the victim was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
The victim's name is being withheld until relatives are notified.
