FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks police are investigating a report that a 5-year-old boy accidentally shot his 3-year-old sister in the chest with a .357-caliber revolver Friday afternoon in an apartment on Peger Road.
The victim was in stable condition Friday evening and was flown to Anchorage, officer Alana Malloy said. The girl’s parents drove her to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where police were called at 2:42 p.m. The gun belonged to the children’s parents, and it was not immediately clear why the boy had access to it, Malloy said. |

Where do these idiots come from? They should have NEVER been allowed a gun, it obivious they are NOT responsible parents, and must be held accountable 100%! It is not the 5 year olds fault, he is almost a baby himself.Where were the parents? Asleep, drunk, drugged or watching telivision? WHY wasen't the gun put up? Something is very fishy here.Slam their buttsin prison, they don't deserve the children!!

Animals take better care and are more protective of their young than a lot of the people I know. As a species, I'm surprised we have lasted this long. This is inexcusable.

I agree with ibfshn. The same reasoning applies to dogs like pit bulls and boa constrictors--there are some things stupid enough that just call for justice, and this is one of them!

When a person decides to purchase a gun or rifle and all accessories they also need to buy a safe to store that in...kids are curious as cats and get to places we don't think of...

THE PERSON WHO LEFT THAT GUN ACCESSIBLE SHOULD GO TO PRISON! NO QUESTIONS ASKED! I AM 100% FOR GUN OWNERSHIP. IF A PERSON IS THAT IRRESPONSIBLE THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!
