ANCHORAGE - A fire at an East Anchorage condominium complex late Sunday night sent one person to the hospital and displaced dozens more, firefighters said.

The blaze began around 9:30 p.m. in the Anchorage Manorhouse on Reka Drive and firefighters remained at the scene for hours. One woman was hospitalized with unknown injuries. Despite the scope of the blaze, a representative with the Red Cross of Alaska said all but one of the building's residents were able to find shelter with family and friends in the fire's aftermath.

"When you've got a multi-unit like that, there's always the possibility of more people," said Katie Bender, development and marketing director with the organization. "But most people were able to find help in the area."
