ANCHORAGE - Fire dispatchers said nobody was injured in a structure fire that sent smoke billowing over the Anchorage skyline Thursday evening.

The call came in just before 7 p.m., when firefighters responded to a single family home on the 200 block of Lane Street in Mountain View. Dozens of neighbor gathered to watch as the house, directly across the street from a local park, was engulfed in smoke.

More than 45 minutes after the call came in, ten crews still battled sporadic flames burning through the walls of the home. A spokeswoman for the Red Cross of Alaska said the organization was working to provide emergency shelter and provisions for the family of seven displaced in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
