ANCHORAGE - According to a report released Thursday, the proposed plan to move Alaska's F-16 Aggressor squadron from Eielson Air Force Base to Anchorage is nearly a go.
The plan to move the jets to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson was ranked in ten areas of feasibility, from medical and financial to logistical. While the Air Force report gave the plan the green light in seven of those areas, the overall assesment was less positive: yellow.
The report says the plan is still contingent upon the results of an environmental assessment, and could lead to less efficient flight operations command and control.
