A Yellow Cab driver sustained minor injuries after he was shot in the stomach early this morning in West Anchorage .
James Gregory, 30, had called the Anchorage Police Department to report a suspicious person on the 4300 block of Cope Street shortly after 4:30 a.m.
The suspect, 21-year-old Michael Blackwell, had been prowling around a vehicle when Gregory approached him.
After Blackwell told the driver he lived in the neighborhood, he ducked behind a residence, returned with a shotgun and shot Gregory in the abdomen.
