Drunk Driving Crackdown in EffectDrivers appear to be ignoring warnings
The holiday season blitz by the APD and State Troopers on drunken driving is in full force – and it appears many drivers are not listening to authorities’ warnings. Last month Anchorage police caught 128 people driving while under the influence, putting their lives and the lives of others at risk.
Over the holiday season, APD and Alaska State Troopers spend extra time looking for drunk drivers, and as we found out, they didn’t have to look very hard. Earlier this week, CBS 11 video journalist Ken Fankhauser rode along during a night shift with an officer from the APD traffic unit. |

we need to have our eyes on all year. intox. driving is a big issue at holiday times bcoz "ooo, time-off" but any nights and/or weekends there are some too. also, csp patients sometimes shuffle across the streets, often outside of crosswalks and without looking, or having glow-y strips somewhere on them to be easy to see.
